Windows 8.1 - time to learn Powershell?

I see that, in 8.1 Preview, the
<:winkey:> + <X> menu now contains Powershell instead of a Command Prompt.
Is Powershell easy to learn/ worth the effort?
Is there anything which won't work any more that did work in a Command Prompt?

I really don't use or learned much on PowerShell myself yet to be able to answer that other than it's another tool to use.

The standard command line is really very primitive. While it has received some upgrades a great deal hasn't changed much since it's origin in the 1980's. Power shell can do a great deal that would otherwise require the addition of third party software and offers a much more powerful scripting language. For the average home user it isn't going to be of much value. But for anyone wanting to write anything more than simple batch files Power Shell will be a better choice.
