Now before I start, Yes I've looked at other peoples forums for help. Now the issue with the problem I'm currently having is that I'm getting "Blank" Icons from programs, or the File Explorer doesn't load sometimes and says "Folder is empty". I've ran over 5 Anti Viruses, 3 registry fix scans and a file corrupt. Nothing worked. All my drivers are up to date but I think the real problem is that while my Windows was "Updating" when I shutdown it was kind of stuck or something so I force closed it. Maybe something like I'm missing files or need to replace files or some sort like that?

thats funny.. nothing in This PC...

I think there was some programs that refreshed file explorer and windows settings.. I'm trying to remember what it was.. I'm sure Brink had some tutorials on how to do this.. things like resetting or refreshing thumb view and icons.. etc..

Maybe Ccleaner will help ..

Didn't work.

go for the Dism Commands.. it might be safer to do these in "safe mode" also..

or even if you have the windows install CD.. etc..

you would then boot from the install CD and run these..

quickly glance at all of these.. it's a lot of info.. but relatively simple processes..

I think the automatic repair one would solve even more issues that you may have too...

**Edit see next post if it appears you can do that in the next post.. do that.. instead..)

However repair install usually requires you to reinstall drivers and a few things.. It's not a big deal but maybe try the safe modes first above posts

files should still be in folders.. they just might not be installed.. but you still have files if you did the repair install..

In other words, during a repair install, you gave the option to keep files and as long as you select that, you should still have your programs..

That's what I just experienced very recently with someone else doing a repair install.. They still had their programs.. So I'm not sure why you "lost anything.."

Unless you didn't select "keep files" etc...
