Hi Genet.
Can I re-create the Hp recovery drive after installing laptop drivers ( that was in laptop originally but unfortunately deleted) in a fully formatted hard drive after original windows installed ?

yes, you would have to create a partition at the end of the disk (large enough to hold the recovery image)
then capture C:\ as the install.wim

I have ASUS ROG and I just resized C drived via EASEUS. Now I cannot update to Windows 10.

- Open a command prompt as administrator and type (or copy and paste) the following commands.

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition

select partition 2
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001

list partition
exit

hi!
i am currently using an DELL OEM version of Windows 8.1, so the problem that i found in my PC was when i was trying to upgrade my OS to windows 10 the installation has failed many times with the error code of 80070003 ant i thought of refresh my PC and then try W10 so when i tried to refresh my windows 8.1 after inserting my CD there was a notification saying windows can't find recovery environment and so i went through your blogs for this solution and then i was able to do until this stage hjj.jpg
so i was got stuck to do the other steps so can anyone guide me to do by seeing my PC statutes of partitioning and i also used 3rd party software (i think its partition magic) to partition my PC a year ago.

This also fixes Windows Update error 80070003 when upgrading to Windows 10, if you have used EaseUS Partition Master.

The ID for the recovery partitions type is incorrectly set to OEM.

- You need to manually select the partition and change the partition ID.
- Open a command prompt as administrator and type (or copy and paste) the following commands.

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition

select partition 1
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001

select partition 7
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001

list partition

I have essentially the same layout as above and have successfully changed the id's to Recovery. My question is that I had previously used the HP utility to remove a 20GB recovery partition. My partition 6 (now named Recovery) is only 720 MB (partition 1 is 1.2 GB). What is the purpose of my partition 6?
By the way, I am using an SSD and found that it seems that Partition Master may have messed up my 4 K alignment. I had to use Mini Tool Partition Wizard to re-align.

- Post a screenshot of "list partition" and "reagentc /info".
- Open a command prompt as administrator and type (or copy and paste) the following commands.

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition
exit
reagentc /info

- Alt-PrtScr copies the active window to the clipboard.

I do not know.

Windows RE status is disabled.

Hello,

I purchased my Acer V3-551G notebook in 2012 with Windows 8 pre-installed. I updated it to Windows 8.1 as soon as it had become available.

Three months ago, i bought an SSD and migrated my data using some software (I guess it was Ease partition).

Since then, the computer lost its ability to repair or reinstall the software. Can't find the recovery image.

After carefully exploring all the posts in this thread, i ran the commands suggested by Genet. My partition types didn't change to OEM apparently. But after running reagentc, i'm seeing my Windows RE Status disabled. I've tried to activate it by using the enable command but it said "The Windows RE image was not found."

I guess my situation somewhat resembles GlennR's.

Below are the screenshots which i think could be useful for you guys to find a solution. Any help on this regard would be much appreciated.

Follow up:

Win.re is missing i suppose. Computer unable to locate it.

In the above post, first image contains Turkish language. Sağlam means healty so the recovery partitions exist and functional, according to disk management anyway.

Here's the caps regarding win.re
