Just installed 8.1 and the "This PC" section of the navigation pane in file explorer has changed. In addition to listing the disk drives, it now lists six folders.

This is very annoying. Anyone figure out how to remove the folders from the drive list?

Thanks

It just appears like they have included the Library Folders (Desktop-Documents-Videos-Pictures-Music, etc) in the main Explorer Window, but at least it can be customized.

I am still using 8, and only my Drives are listed in there. My Library Icon is on my Taskbar and I get to the Library that way. Another reason why I'll stick with 8 and pass on 8.1. Maybe I'll change my mind once the real version of 8,1 is released- But I've "Previewed" 8.1 as much as I am gong to for now.

Thanks Brink . I didn't know you had a tutorial . SIW2's script works fine too . If you want to remove all the folders from both places .

Although the folders are now removed from the explorer pane, all of the folders still show up in the "save as" or "save" system dialog boxes, when saving a document or file, under "This PC". Adds to the clutter.

Did I miss something to remove those?

Thanks

Unfortunately , no . I have not found a way to rid the save as or save dialog of those folders . Which IMHO stinks . For me at least they are not in my face with every folder I open .
