WIndows 8.1 lock screen wallpaper cache

Hi there,

I've recently applied a set of 3 different wallpapers. Now i've deleted the wallpapers but the wallpapers are still cached on my computer. I want to delete it but I cant find the location of the cached wallpaper.

Can someone help me?

(See the image and red lines)

Thanks in advance

Thanks.

But I see only the next wallpapers, and not my own chosen wallpapers:

I think it's hidden of located on a different place(?).

You're right, my mistake!
Check in: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData\S-1-5-21-xxxx....\ReadOnly\LockScreen_A
You need to change permissions for yourself.

To fix LockScreen image I had to do the following:

Log into an Administrator account.

Open explorer and go to
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData\5-1-5-18\ReadOnly

I had to use the security tab to change the ownership of SystemData in order to access it's folders.

This happens to be one of the stupid thing programmers will do in the name of security. Lock you out of files your administrator account should have access too. This is probably the cause of the bug as well.

Within the ReadOnly folder I found the following folders.
LockScreen_P
LockScreen_Z

Within the LockScreen_Z folder there is a single file named:
LockScreen__1024_0768.jpg

Within LockScreen_P there is another file with the same name as the one in LockScreen_Z.
I copy and pasted the same named file within LockScreen_P into LockScreen_Z.

Now when I log out, the image I want displayed is shown rather than the sorry excuse for artwork that Microsoft developers chose to be the default.
