Right click the battery icon in the taskbar. Then, click power options. Then choose what the power button does. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Finally, uncheck turn on fast startup.

I have been having similar problems with 2 laptops. I think I've tracked it down to my anti-virus which was upgraded a few weeks ago, around the time the problems started. I uninstalled the AV a couple of days ago, and no problems since (I am unplugging and plugging power cable at different battery levels to test).

Worth checking if your AV might be an issue?

sometimes it gets ugly when I try to force shutdown after it freeze I keep having the blue screen with the message Wtachdog_Time_out or something like that and I cannot log into windows again no matter how many times I restart my laptop, the only way I found to solve this by performing a system restore, this really annoying...!!

thanks SaggyMaggyPoo, I'm not using any third party anti virus I'm using windows defender!
That's a shame - it might have been a quick solution:(. I hope someone can help you solve your problem. I've found this to be a very helpful and knowledgeable forum, so good luck.
