This is a very common issue, according to Google.
Every few days, the Reliability Monitor tells me that microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps... have crashed. There is no prompt and the apps still seem to function normally. It's just frustrating because the error keeps showing up.
I've tried just about every solution that's out there, including re-installing the apps, re-installing some Windows updates, and deleting the store cache in PowerShell. None of these have been effective.
My current solution is to ignore the error, via the following method.
Even if there's no real solution to this problem, I wanted to share my method for avoiding those annoying and pointless Reliability Monitor errors that make the system itself look unstable.
If anyone has found a better solution, then please share it. Thanks!

- Open the Action Center through the taskbar or the Control Panel
- Click "Change Action Center settings" on the left-hand pane
- Click "Problem Reporting Settings" at the bottom of the page
- Click "Select programs to exclude from reporting"
- Click "Add..."
- Browse to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_17.5.9600.20689_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
- Double-click "livecomm.exe"
- Click "OK" and close the page
