Windows 8.1 Apps won't start

I have a Windows 8.1 and a problem with my apps. When I try to open weather, finance and other apps, They show their start-up screen and in a couple of seconds they're gone - I am brought to my metro screen... Tried to reinstall the apps, but hadn't got any luck...

But wait, it get interesting: Even though the weather app crashes, I have a live tile option on for that app, and it shows me weather nicely.

Am I the only one stuck with this problem or is there a solution that may fix it ?

Here are some of the errors from Event viewer:
Failure to load the application settings for package Microsoft.BingMaps_8wekyb3d8bbwe. Error Code: 32

Failure to load the application settings for package microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe. Error Code: 32

I'm having the same problem. I couldn't get any tiles to open. When I clicked on any tile it would flash and then it would go to my desktop screen. The store tile wouldn't open or the PC settings. I followed the suggestions for both of these from previous threads that were listed on this site and I can open them now. My live tiles are working fine as well. I've tried to restore my pc but got an error about antivirus. The only antivirus I have running is windows defender. I've been working on this problem for 2 days now. Please help.

Hello kbhgirl, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If these are working now, then what did you need to restore for?

Please go ahead and post the full error message you got when you tried to restore. :)

Tiles won't open

None of the apps were working. The store app or the pc settings. That is why I did what was mentioned in previous posts. The live tiles show new or current information, but when I click on them it flashes and then goes to the desktop and nothing. That is why I tried refreshing to see if that would correct the tiles not working.
The error I get is that the refresh couldn't be finished due to windows problem. Then it goes to a windows pop up saying that it is checking windows for a solution to the problem.

I've gone through the 25 steps mentioned in the posts and my UAC setting is default. I've run the msconfig with nothing found wrong. And the sfc/scannow didn't correct this. My only other option is to return the computer back to factory settings but I don't want to do that. I use this laptop for school and is my only working computer. I'm in my finals week and I've already wasted a lot of time trying to get this problem resolved. If the factory settings thing doesn't work my only other option is taking it back to Best Buy and have one of their Geek Squad tech try to fix it. But like I mentioned that before, right now it is not a feasible thing.

In that case, as a hopeful workaround for now, create a new user account, and see how it works in the new account.
