Windows 8.1 And Samsung Galaxy S3 Issue

Hey guys ,

Loving this forum so far some great threads,

Ok after recently installing 8.1 and installing Kies 3 for my S3 Ive been checking my event viewer and seeing the below error consistantly , googled it but no real joy , any ideas ?

The device GT-I9300 (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times in its own process. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem.

Ive checked the drivers unistalled and reinstalled removed kies 3 and reinstalled but still showing.

...is their way of saying, "uninstall because it ain't gonna work and wait for us to fix it for 8."

Of course, that's only if you've already been trying the latest.

Kies3 does not work on the S3 you need to install the older Kies version.
Check the kies download site for compatibility

i previously install the previous version but then kies updates itself to version 3

Contrary to the poster above, I have Kies 3 running on Windows 8.1 and it works with my S3 with the latest firmware? have you installed the latest S3 Firmware for your provider - should be jellybean 4.3

Ok, if you have not already I'd post on some S3 forums, I doubt you will be alone and to me this sounds more phone related than computer related?

FWIW, their download page does not tout any Windows 8. Only Vista, XP, 7. If it was compatible with 8, I would think they would want to advertise that - so - common sense assumes it is not OR they aren't doing a good job of informing.

One or the other. Probably former.
