Is it possible if you have 2 partitions to install windows 8 with an upgrade and keep windows 7? I have a windows 8 upgrade USB.

You will need one Windows 7 licence for the Windows 7 install.

For the Dual Boot with Windows 8 install, You will need one Windows 7 (WIN XP/Vista) licence & the Windows 8 upgrade licence to install.

What about upgrading the software? The software covered by this agreement is an upgrade to your existing operating system software, so the upgrade replaces the original software that you are upgrading. You do not retain any rights to the original software after you have upgraded and you may not continue to use it or transfer it in any way. This agreement governs your rights to use the upgrade software and replaces the agreement for the software from which you upgraded. After you complete your upgrade, additional software will be required to playback or record certain types of media, including DVDs.

You do not need to install the Win XP, but just delete the Win XP install from the PC it is installed on.

Ok, So i understand i can just install windows 8...

I got 1 computer with windows XP, i will put linux on that.
I have bought the windows 8 software on my Windows 7 pc if that matters.

If u dual boot Windows 7 with Windows 8 now technically replacing the XP OS. Will this be ''legal''.

If you delete the Win XP install, YES will be Legal.

If you do not,
You would have NO original software.
