Just after releasing an article about the Avast CTO being carefree in his interview, Win7China has struck us with some more disappointing news. Initially, Avast CTO Ond?ej Vl?ek had said that they had not received any Windows 8 code yet, however, arrangements were being made for them to receive an early compilation of Windows 8 in the spring.
Immediately following, a new report was issued suggesting that we will not be able to get our hands on anything until Windows 8 Beta. This is because Microsoft is following an entirely different and much stricter procedure dealing with the distribution of Windows 8, which includes the following:
A form of identity code is attached to every Windows 8 build (known by the public as time-bomb, or a changing security hash unique to the user)
Windows 8 can only be accessed by a specific account of the individual user. Futhermore, access is only granted when used in conjunction with a SmartCard. (A SmartCard is similar to the chips found in today’s credit cards)
