Win 8.1 Enterprise MSN Weather metro app stuck at loading.

Hello everyone. I have an annoying and weird problem with just the MSN weather metro under Win 8.1 Enterprise. It has been working fine since a few weeks ago, then all of a sudden, whenever I try to open it, it keeps showing the spinning circle right after the splash screen and my city with the current weather just never appears anymore.

Weird thing is that ALL the other metro apps work just fine including the store app and even the LIVE tiles work too, EVEN with the weather app but that's all that works for the latter.

Now I have tried the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter but didn't help.

Also I had another idea and it seemed to resolve the issue at first but only for a one time launch though.... :-(
That is I uninstalled the msn weather metro app, after that I went into the app store and installed it again. Then opened it and voila it worked and it remembered my city so it didn't delete everything it seems after uninstalling. Now whenever I close the weather app again and reopen it, it just has the same problem. Won't get pass the spinning circle again after the splash screen. Whenever I uninstall and reinstall it once more, it works again the first time I open it after the install but any subsequent launches of this particular metro app fails again.

I don't know how to solve this. It can't be a big problem as all else works just fine. Perhaps someone has run into the exact same phenomenon once and knows the solution. Hopefully so :-) I just like the weather app and particularly because it always worked flawlessly before.

Isn't there some folder or key(s) in registry to wipe or clean so it could start a fresh? Just hunching...

I have the same problem, just uninstalled and installed another weather app. Seems Microsoft is trying to force by any means to do the "upgrade" to Windows 10...

Hello kekinash. I am very happy you reply. I did some checking in the Apps store to the ratings of msn weather. All 1 stars now since September the 30th. People complaining the same things as we experience. After uninstalling amd reinstalling it works only once.

So I am glad it's not just me anymore. But I am not going to Win 10. I am just glad I got 8.1 working now as I please. They'd better fix this crap.

That's the SOLUTION!!!! WORKED FOR ME!! THANKS A BUNCH :-)
EDIT: It only works again one time. After deleting that .sqlite file it just reappears and MSN Weather won't load again.... still needing to wait for a solution I guess.

Only got a new problem which doesn't fit here..... after installing a Headphone Amplifier driver from Oehlbach XXL DAC, my Manage 3D Settings from Nvidia Control Panel doesn't save settings anymore. Had this before in the past without the Oehlbach and a simple uninstall from the Nvidia Drivers and then running Display Driver Uninstaller before reinstalling the Nvidia Drivers worked well. This time it doesn't.

So now I am stuck using the auto select videocard in my laptop which is the Intel 4600. Don't know how to solve this.... maybe I have to create a new thread somewhere.

You have to rename the file, as is suggested in the thread. Deleting it will allow for it to be rewritten. My App has been working normally for several days after renaming.

At some point, Microsoft will probably do something to correct the problem, so the situation may change.

You are very right. That indeed did do the trick after all.... Thanks a lot :-)
