For installing Windows 7 classic games on Windows (They aren't included with Windows 8 --only the rubbish one's (IMO) from the store) download and install :

Choose the correct version 64/32 bit depending on your W8 install.

download link is no longer available.

Unfortunately, this download link is no longer working.

"PayPal has ceased processing MEGA customer payments effective immediately.
MEGA is aware of a report published by NetNames (partially funded from the MPAA supported Digital Citizens Alliance) that incorrectly claims MEGA's business to not be a legitimate cloud storage service. MEGA is aware that Senator Leahy (Vermont, Chair Senate Judiciary Committee) then pressured Visa and MasterCard to cease providing payment services to the companies named in that report.
Visa and MasterCard then pressured PayPal to cease providing payment services to MEGA.
MEGA provided extensive statistics and other evidence showing that MEGA's business is legitimate and legally compliant. After discussions that appeared to satisfy PayPal’s queries, MEGA authorised PayPal to share that material with Visa and MasterCard. Eventually PayPal made a non-negotiable decision to immediately terminate services to MEGA. PayPal has apologised for this situation and confirmed that MEGA management are upstanding and acting in good faith. PayPal acknowledged that the business is legitimate, but advised that a key concern was that MEGA has a unique model with its end-to-end encryption which leads to “unknowability of what is on the platform”.
MEGA has demonstrated that it is as compliant with its legal obligations as USA cloud storage services operated by Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dropbox, Box, Spideroak etc, but PayPal has advised that MEGA's "unique encryption model" presents an insurmountable difficulty. The encryption models claimed by various USA and other entities apparently do not represent any problem to PayPal or the parties behind PayPal.
MEGA supplies ....MEGA will temporarily not enforce its storage limits or suspend any accounts for non-payment and has extended existing subscriptions by 2 months free of charge. "

Anyway else to make this installer available?
Thanks,

THANK YOU SO MUCH
I was thinking I was going to have to abandon W10 because of games and gadgets.
got them both back on 10130. Hopefully they will survive release next month.

OH BTW, that mega download is flagged as a virus. Get it from the dropbox.

ONE question -- I now have a START MENU folder with the Games in it. They run fine from there but do not run from the alphabetized W10 start menu.
What did I miss?

something bork
I had to reinstall W10
now the games do not open from anyplace.
any clues??

Hey, what exactly happened that made you reinstall W10?

I'm curious because I just installed the 64-bit package (from the dropbox link) for a relative a few days ago and it worked fine but today he said he was getting blue screen errors when he tried checking his emails and his pc keeps restarting. I'm wondering if the two things might be related.

Sorry, I have had a lot of issues getting W10 going and I have totally lost why I had to reinstall it THAT time.

Thanks a lot for your response.

My problem turned out to be an ordinary hard drive failure so I can conclude it's not the fault of the W7 game package (at least very unlikely), it was probably just a coincidence.

Hi TONSCHUH ~

I just did the Windows 10 upgrade and was, of course, disappointed with the new solitaire. I had used another route to install Win-7 solitaire in Win-8 but when I tried to use it in Win-10 it failed. Happily, I found your installer, downloaded it, unzipped, ran it and Bingo! It works like a charm. It even installed links in the Win-10 menu system. Interestingly, when you open a game and go to Help > About Solitaire - it shows with the Windows 10 banner but the version is the good old 6.2 from Win-7.

Tonschuh, you are the man! It's no wonder they call you the legend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

W10 install issue - windows games installer

I used the Installer version from a link earlier in this thread using an administrator account. Thanks for that link.

My W10 is a 64 bit clean install, from MSDN iso, into a Virtual box virtual machine which is running on a W8 host. This is my test/experimental machine.

I created a new limited user account in W10 in the hope that the games would also appear there. When I then logged into the account W10 went through the normal initial set up and then hung saying "this is taking rather longer than normal". It then went eventually to a black screen and just stopped doing anything. I left it for over 1 hour.

At this stage I was able to use Alt-Ctrl- Del to successfully bring up task manager and when I exited from task manager there was nothing on the Taskbar - no Start button, no tray items.

Uninstalling the Games, after forcing a logout via Task-manager and switching to the admin account, enabled the new account to login correctly. Reinstalling the games enables them to work correctly on all existing accounts.

I conclude that some initial account creation checks fail or hang while the account is being created if the games are already installed.

Any idea what this can be and can it be fixed?
