I have a DLink DWA-182 wireless adapter and it connects to my DLink DIR-865L router and the connection speed is 866.5 Mbps. This connection type should be 802.11ac but when I open the Task Manager the connection type shows as 802.11n. Is this just some minor bug in Windows 8.1 Pro that should be ignored or is something wrong?

Is your computer connected to the router? Can you transfer files via the WiFi? If answers are yes it seems all is working well no matter what the data is showing.

Yes, yes. I was playing around with the wireless connection options and I was getting low connect speeds and thought that I was not getting the correct type of connection. 802.11n does not get a connection speed of 866.5 Mbps.

Thanks
