Why is Searchindexer running

Hi

My W8.1 PC is fully updated.

I do not have any Hard Drives or Partitions set to be searched in the Drive Properties dialogue box, so
why is Searchindexer running all the time and using RAM?

you can go to admin tools /Services ,in control panel and turn it off

that's likely a good question ,myself I have disk indexing disabled ,
maybe if you set the search indexing service to manual first, to see if that stops it from acting up on you ,at least that will have it set so if you do go and use search indexing it will turn on for you
