Posting here instead of the tenforums as there are probably more 8 users here

I know its early days yet and there is more to come with Windows 10, but from first impressions how many still like the way 8 works

For me I find 8 the easiest to navigate through apps and also the desktop side

As an 8 user what do you think of 10, big improvement, needs more work, prefer 8

Cheers

Going by the information I've read so far, at the moment Windows 10 just seems to be Windows 8 with windowed store apps, multiple desktops and the option of a Start Menu. Personally I don't have a use for store apps, nor am I sure what I'd use multiple desktops for and I prefer the Start Screen over the Start Menu anyway, so there's nothing really there that warrants me installing it so far.

So for the time being I'll just be keeping track of what changes are made to Win 10 as it goes on.

I plan on using nt 6.2 forever!

Couldn't care less about desktop menus or taskbar toolbars.

The apps view in 8.1 and windows 10 is broken into alphabetic segments.
I like the original design.

The original snap feature of 1/4 screen works nicely for streaming while on the desktop.
If dedicated to view a modern app or stream, I want full screen only, no desktop windows!
In windows 10, they eliminated the start / desktop square and the left edge UI.

This one never had an issue with usability, appearances or UI effects.
The machine listed in specs handles nt 6.2 fast and fine.

Windows 7 / 8.1 / 8.1.1 / 10 are not used.

I will be keeping the preview, I am enjoying seeing what direction MS is going with this, for people who only want a desktop this is a good start

For my use I am more waiting for the consumer preview, hopefully this should have a lot more added

On the desktop I prefer W10, but on my SP and ASUS T100, I prefer W8 as working on the desktop on small 10" screens just doesn't cut it for me. And I prefer to use 'modern' apps as much as reasonably possible.

I'll keep W10 on my HP AIO running in a VM to watch and test as it moves forward.
