Where to get "Office" help

Based on the excellent response I received on another issue, I thought I would test your wisdom again. If nothing else maybe someone can point me to another resource.

I am not alone with this problem and have spent hours reading similar experiences, following “how to” and doing multiple uninstall/reinstall, all to no avail.

Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Moved up from Office 2010 Pro to 2016 Pro.
MS keeps sending updates for 2010.
Before installing 2016, I uninstalled 2010 via control panel…updates kept coming.
Uninstalled 2016 reinstalled 2010 and removed it with Office Uninstaller Tool…updates kept coming.

So, I guess the question becomes, is it ok to just let MS install all these 2010 updates, even though there is no such office installed? Any clashes with 2016? Any other ideas?

I’ve posted on the MSOffice Forum but it seems like there are few participants over there.

Search one of the Office Updates by KB number - it may also effect other newer versions of Office

KYHI, are you saying, in order to install MSO 2016 on a PC with no prior version, MSO 2010 components are required?
