Where are the thousands of apps?

Apparently there are about 9,000 apps in the store. Obviously i didn't count them, but from what i've seen i would judge that i'm seeing just below a thousand apps total. So, my question is , where are they?

How are you looking? The store only shows 100 apps for the "Top xxx" and "New Releases" categories.

As an example, if you open the Windows Store and navigate to the Games section, then click on Games > it says there are 987 apps in that category alone.

Still, a quick survey doesn't look like 9000.. maybe closer to 5000. There are probably a bunch of apps still in the approval queue waiting to be approved and added to the store.

Search " " in the store. (It's a space) and that will show everything.

I think " " only finds apps that have more than one word. It does show over 5000 apps with more than one word in the title though.

9000 Apps in the whole eco system, not necessarily in your region...you really want 4-5000 Chinese Apps showing in your list if you're from the US?

Indeed. Search for " * " (star) to see all apps in your language. Supposedly there's about 5,000 apps in English and localized to all languages, but there are LOTS of Chinese-only apps for some reason. Odd, but still interesting.

Yea, I think there is a bit of filtering problem but if all the Chinese apps were showing we'd see A LOT more.
