I know this is an ongoing question for you all, but I need help picking the best free antivirus. I have been using Defender along with MBAM and SuperAntispyware. But, I recently read that Windows Defender is not doing as good as other competitors. So, it would be appreciated if someone would help me find the right antivirus. My ISP provides Norton, but I really don't like Norton. Can someone help me here?

Yup. MBAM(free) is just a on demand scanner where Anti-Exploit closes holes in the browser, JAVA, Protects memory office, strengthens DEP enforcement: Screenshot (15).png here is a view of one of the tabs(black because of my theme). It's main us is to protect against "Drive-by" infections when visiting sites that might have been compromised(happens to the best--really!)

one thing about Malware Bytes Anti-Exploit, it only protects against specific types of threats. It is not a substitute for anti-virus, just like free version of MBAM isn't a substitute for anti-virus. Either keep Windows Defender running alongside MBAM and MBAE, or install a better anti-virus (like Avast) alongside those.

Your brain and common sense is always a good start...!!

Windows Defender and MBAM do it fine for me, as well as the above

That's why I said:
If you don't feel safe with defender alone
But it's good you stressed the point not to use it a substitute in case someone else "over read" it.:)
