well I digress on 8

Well I digress on windows 8....didn't wont to. Some of my metro apps would just quit working or not work at all. Then I kept getting some memory errors when rebooting or shutting down. That didn't start untill I installed MS Office 2010, then updates would roll in and the error message would go away for awhile then it came back.

So I've decided to go back to Windows 7 until Windows 8 is ready. The sad part about this move is I had my metro screen tweaked and I could flow through it with ease. I was really liking 8.

They might have fixed your issues by rtm .

Worth giving it a go.

You might like it.

No idea what the pricing will be.

There is a theory it will be very low.

We will have to wait and see.

I doubt it'll be "low" :( Low to me would be like no more than $80. But since MS is charging tablet makes $85 for the stripped down RT version, then the full desktop version will be it's old $150 OEM / $200 retail MSRP again (or maybe up to $30 less in reality).

$85 for oem's - I must have missed that - is there a link somewhere?

That is a shock.

The theory they would be giving it away stems from the fact not many want to buy it.

It would have to be dirt cheap to sell 500 million copies.

Microsoft Charging OEMs $85 for Windows RT

Yeah given all the new revenue streams they are implementing with WIn8, you'd think that they might see the light, at least on tablets and phones anyway... But no :/

So immediately, all windows tablets will be $100 more than android and even iPad!

When Built in Jan 2008 it was a top of the line rig, now it still runs great, droped in a SSD, don't think anything else is worth the effort. Ya gotta love the P/s, cost $~500.00 back then, is 9.5 inches long and weighs a ton, just had it rebuilt last year a month before warranty ran out[5 year].
