And don't forget the Vista Forums members. I hope we're all one big happy family!

Agreed! :smug: People tend to forget VF now that SF is so much more popular and generates much more volume, but there are many (well, some may be more accurate) of us in VF who haven't moved to SF (I, for one, don't have a W7 machine and won't for some time) but consider ourselves part of the group of three forums and hope others don't forget us as we work hard there given that there aren't many remaining core members to assist with questions (which are admittedly much slower than SF or than occurred in the past even though we set a new record just a week or two ago for number online so it is still far from dead). A lot of you may not know us because you started in SF and maybe never even visited VF - but we're there and quite a few are here as well (though many of them are also SF members so you may know them through there only).

I suspect I may skip W7 altogether and go directly to W8 (or whatever it's called) - unless I have no choice but to change computers in the meantime. While I don't participate here anywhere near as much as VF (I like helping people and that's not really part of this forum yet), I will more and more (even as it exists now, but especially once it comes out and I most likely upgrade if I haven't been forced to do so in the meantime).

Thanks for saying all of that, Lorien. I agree with you. Yes, there are a number of us who, although we have joined the Windows 7 Forum, are really more active in the Vista Forum. I work solely on Vista, and I do so because I really, really like it, and it has pretty much all of the features that I want and need for my professional work and for my entertainment. (In fact several of those Vista features have been removed from W7, which makes me even more determined to stay with Vista for the foreseeable future!!!) So like you, I may go directly from Vista to W8, with the hope that the technological advances in W8 will make up for the features that are no longer included. (Of course, fortunately, there are always tweaks to regain some of them!)

Agreed! VF is the best place anywhere, and I see no point in upgrading from Vista to 7. Vista to 8, however, I do kind of see point in.

That's true, and in VF we do get a chance to be a little silly and have a lot of fun while we're agonizing over the serious  issues. . .

I was glancing at the threads and noticed some were started by a red icon and some (much less) with a blue one. I had not posted or viewed either blue one. I can't for the life of me figure out what the difference means. Does anyone have a clue or is there a post somewhere that explains this and questions of a similar nature?

Thanks!
