I wanted to stop by and compliment those who have made Eight Forums a wealth of information for an OS, it seems, MS released on Friday and had abandoned by Monday.

Thanks to those who ask and answer the questions, write up the great tutorials, and offer sage advice -- you're awesome.

Thank you again :) I've been lurking and reading for some time but I figured I'd go ahead and join despite IMO Win8.1 is the past Win10 is the future. Personally, I like 8 just fine, I'm not big on 10 mostly because of the inability to stop updates should I decide I don't want em. I'm under the impression 10 forces all updates on it's users - eventually.

I've investigated Linux Mint and other flavors, still not sold on Linux as a viable byte-for-byte alternative to Windows... anyway!

I'm new to this forum and Windows 8. Actually, I have Windows 7 and am trying to decide between Windows 10 and 8.1, whichever works best with my hardware. Not really sure where to post with my question, but I wanted to stop here to say "Hi" first anyway. Oh, btw, I'm from Midland, MI
 
Hi everyone, I came here because I have to swallow my pride and ask for computer help. But I am passionate about computers and fixing them, so I might actually be of some use here. As my name indicates I was raised on Windows XP, but I'm posting this from my Ubuntu dual-boot. Best, RaisedOnXP!
