ahhhhhhhhh ok, now I know what happened. I was using firefox and it downloaded it to my download folder and I dragged it from there to my desk top. I changed the location of where to download it to [to my desktop directly] and this time I have the icon :)

By the way, pretty cool :)

ok now it wont work at all..lol i give up but nice idea

Hello OldXPuser,

Did you extract drag and drop the Weather shortcut from the downloaded ZIP to your desktop, and unblocked it?

Did you download the custom icon and keep the icon saved where you want it for it to keep displaying, then changed the icon of the shortcut? If you delete or move the icon file after changing the icon of the shortcut for that location, then it the icon will no longer show.

Do you still have the Weather app installed? This is only a shortcut that allows you to run it from your desktop, and not just from the Start screen.

Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn
