Weather and Sports App won`t start...

Hi. I´ve searched everywhere but with no solution. These 2 Apps (plus Travel I think) are the only ones that just won`t run. When I installed Windows 8 some months ago they were working fine, so my suspicion is that I accidentally one of the necessary Windows Services for this app. I remember vaguely some System optimizer that offered to terminate some "unnecessary" win Services. Could anyone tell me which missing Service could cause These apps to hang?? I can click on them but they just "hang" on the loading Animation (little circle) forever...
I also checked the Firewall and These apps have rules activated. Also the app-specific permissions have been double-checked. I`m clueless...

Hello ringostarr, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since this could be anything that caused this, you could do a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before you had this issue to undo and fix it.

Hey, sry but that is not an option right now. Too many files and programs would be gone, can`t justify that just for these 2 apps ...

Just double-checked the Services list with mine and everything was running fine.... Also uninstalling and reinstalling didn`t help either. Well, i guess I can be lucky that only These 2 refuse to run, and the rest just works fine...I`m still very eager to find the solution since those apps were running fine in the beginning...

You could also give the "Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter" a try to see if it may be able to detect and fix the issue.

Thanks for the tip, but I tried the Troubleshooter months ago already...

I just looked in the Event log and it seems to be a JavaScript error. specifically a "generic error". Description: "an internal error occurred in the Microsoft internet-extensions"....perhaps somebody can make something out of that...
I`ll try updating Java...although it is most likely up to date.
