When I reboot my Windows 8.1 PC, it asks me to choose whether to boot Windows 8.1 on Volume 8, or on Volume 5. What do these volume numbers mean? How do I find out which drive letter is Volume 8, or is Volume 5. I don't know how I have ended up with two Windows 8 installations. Maybe it was something to do with installing an SSD as Drive C, and a large hard drive as drive D. In principle I keep Windows and applications on drive C:, and all my personal files, i.e. the contents of Documents, AppData, Downloads, Emails etc. on drive D:. Does it matter if I have two installations of Windows? Once I'm sure that I'm using the right one, how do I remove the one I don't need? Which files/folders do I need to delete. Or can I just remove the MBR?
