Hi all
Not sure how difficult it would be but instead if every installed app instead of having its own tile on the main Start plus all its submenus as separate tiles too - were to arrange the tiles by learning something from a Desktop OS in using Virtual Desktops.
If I dare say it on a Win Forum --Linux has had Virtual desktops for YEARS and YEARS.
Each app could have its own Virtual Metro start screen entered by clicking the Main app from the standard Metro start screen.
For example I should be able to click on say on the initial Start screen MS OFFICE
then a new Start screen should overlay the ist start screen with my Office apps --EXCEL --etc.
This saves the almost infinite horizontal scroll if you have a lot of apps installed together with their "sub menus/function". - I know you can remove loads of tiles but it's still a bit of a pain doing this if the app you've installed had say 20 items in its main menu. !!!
Another advantage is that this would also work extremly well on SMALL tablet / Netbook size screens as well. We all can't sit at 60 Cm Plasma TV size monitors (unfortunately) !!.
This would also be a fairly seamless transition for people used to the "Classical Start menu".
Keeps the new "Metro" style but makes it easy for "Old Start Menu die hards" to Navigate as well.
Kills two birds with one stone here.
