Hey everyone hope everyone is ready for winter! So here's the deal. I upgraded my HP Pavilion DV6 to Windows 8.1 (OEM) from Windows 7 Home Premium and having some issues with my Validity Sensor not working or showing up on "Other Sign in options" but it shows up in the device manager. I have updated the drivers for it and it still isn't working. Sooooooooo I'm wondering if it's not compatible with Windows 8.1?

Unless HP has a driver for that device, so it will work with Windows 8.1, you may have to stick with Windows 7. You can try and see if Windows 8 will allow you to load the Windows 7 driver from HP's support site for your computer.

That's what I did first no luck. I also researched it a bit with no luck there. I figured I would rattle someone's mind and see if there was a fix.. Thanks Broe23

I would try contacting HP Support about this issue. Also check the HP Support forums to see if anyone else is having the same issue with this model & Windows 8.x.x.
