*Urgent* No noise at all, even after complete reset

I have a windows 8 laptop that is making no noise whatsoever. Yesterday morning, I go to youtube to do my normal everyday routine of watching videos and video makes no noise. Shrugging it off, I just do a standard turn off turn back on that usually does the trick. I try again and nothing. I go on different websites; nothing. Being pretty tech savvy, I searched for a few hours to no avail so I just preformed a TOTAL reset. Yes, I lost all files and fingers crossed, hoped it would work. Still nothing. I am so frustrated I have no idea what to do.

According to the screen shot everything appears to be normal but what I usually do is shut the computer down then pull the power cord from the back of it, wait about half a minuter then try again. Had you checked that the speakers are plugged into the correct port, usually light green? Have you checked in Control Panel, Sound for the correct output setting? Have you tried a different set of speakers or a headset in the same port?

But nearly all Notebooks/Laptops have a port for external speakers/headphones and a port for a microphone. Also note that in addition to the Windows volume control/s there also is a hardware control or two using the keyboard or dedicated buttons for controlling.
