I just bought a new tower server and I installed 2012 r2 on it. I'm in the process of installing updates and after the last round I started getting the unsupported hardware error for the cpu. Can someone tell me which update causes that error so that I can remove it? I installed wufuc so now I can get to windows updates again however I still get that error on reboot. I found a post with a list of updates but it seems to be written for 7 and none of the updates are installed. My processor is an i3 9100.

wufuc does not cut it with recent 8.1 updates (esp. ones that have SHA-2 only support from mid-2019 onward)
use latest WuaCpuFix instead which supports newer Win8.1 updates and is better than wufuc
all 8.1 rollups from April 2017 & beyond produce unsupported cpu/hardware error

uninstall wufuc, reboot and install WuaCpuFix

I haven't installed the rollups and I'm not going to. Thanks for the other program; wufuc was all I ever found when googling this. Currently I fixed the issue by uninstalling the last few updates that I had installed and when I have time I'm working through updates in batches on a test virtual machine however a few updates aren't showing up. I wonder if that's because it's virtual machine. You don't know of any updates other than the rollups that cause that?
