Unexpected high memory usage

Alright guys, I think I brought some bad news. Beside the automate maintenance (or I might be wrong) I think its pretty clear that Kasperksy (with the new update) was the one who cause this issue as well. I visited my friend and we play a Dota 2 on the second match I felt a little lag and freeze. After the game kasperksy just raising up CPU and RAM and everything just slowing down. I tried to exit it but it remain active and keep raise up. Should I uninstall Kasperksy and install another Anti-virus software? I'll try to update it again once to make sure.

Kasperksy is a good AV and if you paid for it you probably want to keep it. You could try uninstalling it(need to go to their site HERE probably and find there uninstall tool to thoroughly cleanse your system of it) and try Defender a couple of day's, and if your RAM doesn't spike any more you need to buy more RAM to keep using it(a good idea if your gaming any how).

I actually like Kaspersky, one reason why is because many people in my classroom using a local antivirus and mostly spread out the virus (it happened once which make everyone panic, probably only 3-4 people who detected the virus as they using KIS as far as I know) but ok I'll try to uninstall it and use Defender or Avast free for a couple of days to make sure. If the RAM doesn't spike anymore then I may want to upgrade the RAM asap.

Also I have created a thread that was made a sticky in System Security for choosing an Anti Virus, you could send your class mates there. It doesn't recommend any, but helps the individual to pick the right one for him/herself.

I am running Windows Defender now, and see if the problem persist or not. Anyway I'd like to send a link to them but as you know English is not our primary language and I doubt if they can speak it. Also some of them aren't really care about it even our teacher already said to change their antivirus. So I guess better to protect my own laptop from viruses.

This is so true. You can only trust yourself for protection. That you're used to Kaspersky protecting you, watch out a little more when clicking and visiting sites, I have used MSE with Windows 7 and Defender on 8 and 10 and never got anything, but I have also started using Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit lately because it looks like the internet landscape is getting quite a bit more dangerous even trusted site are being exploited through Googles Double click advertising cookies and code.

Yeah. I also have friends that use KIS, but it seem they don't have this problem with 4GB RAM, I don't know why but as far as I know they don't really updating the database for gaming reason (u know almost everyday gaming). What does Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit really do? Is it just a browser add-on or something else?

Take a look here. Just leave the settings at default and once you get it installed and started if the pop ups/toasts that say your browser is protected nerve/get in the way(like me they do) just right click your taskbar>go to properties>notification area customize>and set it to Hide Icon and Notifications. It's not an add on it's a layer of protection between your browser and PC to protect against zero day exploits from Flash Player, JAVA, and 3rd party cookies. Here is a quote for a known exploit:

Yes I saw a pop up saying that Chrome is now protected when I launch it. I'll try it until the trial ends. Anyway I still thinking that my Linux is perform better than Windows right now (except in-game performance). Also can a virus infecting Windows through Linux (in dual boot mode)? Cuz I don't have any protection software in Linux, not even found one.

No because Linux doesn't use .exe(executable) and as you know one needs sudo in Linux(somewhat like in windows one uses a standard user account instead of an admin ands you have to give a password for every little change). With the anti exploit I unchecked the trial and used the free version which your's will revert to when the time is up. If the notifications nerve just turn them off(in post 28).

Well that was great. also I prefer to try the trial version to find out if it work than just buy it no matter if it work or not (you know a limited budget, I have to choose wisely). And hey I forgot to tell this, when I'm running the maintenance for overnight and when I woke up the screen just blank but it is turned on because I can see the cursor blinking. So I reboot (ctrl+alt+del still work) there is a lot of error in Event Viewer stating that program and drivers has been terminated. I think it already happened twice but I forgot to check Event Viewer for the first time. Is this usually happen?

And also one more time , which do you prefer:
1. Team Elite SO-DIMM DDR3 PC12800 4GB - TED34GM1600C11-S01
2. Corsair SO-DIMM DDR3 4GB PC12800 - CMSO4GX3M1A1600C11
Although The Team Elite is a bit cheaper than Corsair.

You mean the PC didn't go to sleep(you can see the cursor)? no I haven't seen that happen.

Yes the PC didn't go to sleep, just idle, as far as I remember I'm planning to download something at night but I forgot to woke up so it stays on (just turned off the screen with the Fn+F9 and Sleep timer set to Never), when I activated the screen it is all black until I hit ctrl+alt+del to shut it down but the screen resolution seem to changed to 800x600. It also happened when I start the maintenance (probably 2 days ago?). Do you have any idea why it happen? Is it out of memory situation?

Sorry late getting back, I just got home from work. No I don't believe it has to do with memory. Maybe some kind of a system hiccup? Can you reset your screen resolution back to "Recommended" in control panel? How is the RAM usage been today?

Just to check everything you could run this in an Admin. command prompt and then reboot:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&sfc/scannow&Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&pause

It will checkyour system files and clean up your WinSxS files.
It may look frozen sometimes but be rest assured it's running. It can take some time(even on my SSD it takes about 10-15 minutes sometimes)

Yes I can set it back to full screen resolution. For the RAM usage, here is a screenshot when I do a Word Processing and visiting this forum.

And this one was taken yesterday while watching a game replay haha not usually like this. And wait I'll try that command.
