ok, no problem..

reagentc / info

see where it says windowsre location - copy that info into a txt file

\\globalroot yad yad

then replace

c:\Windows\System32\Reagentc /Setreimage /Path \\globalroot yada yada /Target c:\Windows

but change the partition to 1 and not 4

hope you understand

? because the oem created a dynamic disk partition

what are you really wanting to do with the PC?

return to factory 8
or clean install windows 8.1

you do realize you will be forced to upgrade to 8.1

because 8 support is dead

You can copy that Install.wim to a ntfs formatted usb - that is the factory file

i found a file inside the recovery partition that holds the install.wim
inside it i found this......

select disk 0
clean
convert gpt
rem== 1. Windows RE Tools Partition ============
create partition primary size=800
format quick fs=ntfs label="Windows RE tools"
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac

rem this value to size=260.***

Save that file - that is the

partition reset txt file (1 of 3 files needed)

Install.wim is 2 of 3

and resetconfig.xml is 3 of 3

open resetconfig with notepad

and there is nothing in that partition.txt that would suggest that the 800MB partition is not visable in diskpart..

Most likely because it is for use with PBR and not a Factory loaded partition

post reset config

there is another file I would like to see - it is on the 350MB partition

and that file is

reagent.xml

since i was able to get the recovery drives set to their proper IDs i am able to make a Recovery USB Drive that contains the factory settings... woot... hopefully this will work

ok - look in the sources folder on the media you created.. you should see install.swm(s)

and you should see reagent.xml

open reagent.xml with notepad

Here are my recovery disk files $ folders and my sources folder

I'll explain what we have here..

The factory install.wim (factory Image) was split into smaller install.swm files then are copied into the recovery partition and then applied to the windows partition

The resetconfig.xml tells windowsRE what partitions to copy and apply the images to.

The resetpartitions.txt (PBR_diskpart.txt) tells windowsRE how to setup the hard drive and to create the needed partitions

The boot.wim is actually winRE.wim and it will get copied into the WinRE tools partition

the reagent.xml sets the bcd boot record and contains the windows version information..

I will note that since the upgrade you are using windows 8.1 winre and applying a windows 8 image
I will also note you partition sizes are oversized based on the partition.txt you posted
