Solved Unable to boot from USB on HP Compaq laptop

Hi!

I got this HP Compaq ProBook laptop running Windows 8.1 which just won't let me reboot it so I can boot up my Windows 10 installation USB. Anybody know what I could do here?


I've tried setting `HibernateEnabled` to false and then doing `shutdown /s` via PowerShell, but when I turn the laptop back on, it doesn't actually boot but goes straight to the login screen.

You need to change your bootorder and set USB at first.

But the problem is I can't actually seem to turn off my computer properly.

Sounds like a plan lifetec -- thanks -- I'll give that a go!

Hi! Unfortunately this hard reset didn't work for me -- the computer starts right back up into the login screen.

Note that I also tried switching from the HP optimized power plan to a standard one but to no avail.

Disable the fastboot in UEFI settings.
