Recently (past few months) I've been having issue with my computer endlessly buffering on content that is streamed, i.e. youtube, audio on soundcloud, and audio on discord. I've checked youtube on Firefox and it has the same issue as on Chrome. I can't say exactly when this problem began. A restart fixes it, but restarts on my computer can take upwards of five minutes, so I would like to avoid that as much as I can. Text loading and image loading still works fine for me, but anything involving time seems to not work at all. At first I thought that my graphics drivers might be out of date, and they were, but the issue persisted through an update. Any advice as to what might be the cause of the problem would be appreciated.
Addendum: I've just realized that it also causes issues with games. No audio is playing.
