My 12 y.o. son have Win 8 on his ASUS Laptop and he is the only one running it among about 700 students at school.

$3.90??? That can't be right, here in Kentucky, it is $4.26 a gallon and THAT'S the cheap stuff (Marathon gas) Shell, etc. is 3 or 4 cents a gallon more.

In Michigan, we got up to about $4.10 last week. Seems we are hanging around $3.90 right now. Unfortunately, both of my cars don't like regular unleaded. One takes midrange and other premium. Oh well, it's only $0.10 to $0.30 more per gallon.

I'm curious as to how he took to it. Did he learn quick?

Well, I made it back to Ill-in-noise without incident. 320 miles in 5-1/2 hours. That's pretty good time. I got about a 1/4 mile back of some kids who thought the freeway was the autobahn. 80 MPH for about 250 miles. Sweet.

Well. Kids with curiosity are fast learner. My son started touching PC mouse at age 3.
I just installed Win 8 and left it to him and been watching how he copes with it, within 2 weeks I asked him many question about how he found things working with Win 8, and was able to figured it all out.
I thought he will come up with complaints..

Later then I put classic shell, seeking for his mercy.

Kids are great with technology. My son started using the computer and such at 3. He has no problem going form touchpad, to mouse to trackball. He can find videos and games on my wife's iPhone, my droid and our Android tablet. He has no problem starting up his games on the 360, and using the PS3 to watch Netflix and such. He just turned 5 this past month.

Yes. 5.5 hrs X 60 minutes = 330 minutes. 330 minutes / 320 miles = 1.03125 miles per minute average.

I can only do 65 MPH the first 40 miles until I get to the freeway. Then zoom! No stops. At 80 MPH one goes 1.33 miles a minute. Then back to 65 the last 60 miles for I'm back on regular highway.

That's good, but you know it's coming sooner or later. Right? I mean we have faults here in the Midwest, but the Pacific rim is certainly more active. Some of us here in the Midwest are more concerned about the Yellowstone Supervolcano that can blow at any given time. You're lucky. You're up wind. It will bury our butts in as much as 20+ feet of ash and we're many miles away. It will also cause the next ice age, so everyone grab your blankets!

Bottom line, though, we can't afford to live in such fear. Mother nature is who she is and there's not much any of us can do anything about it. We can only prepare and live for today, for that's all any of us have.
