18 degrees sounds like a heat wave to me LPt! :D It hasn't been above 0 here for the past few days, but is suppose to warm up to a balmy 12 today, before dropping back down below 0 once again tomorrow.

I drove earlier across the border to the Netherlands for "coffee" every now and then ;). Still come often but for other reasons, ik heb een paar goede vrienden in Utrecht :).

I have been very frustrated today with the slowness of the various video editors. Movie Maker for example shows this over 3 hours after I clicked Save to convert a 20 minute project to 1080p:

Does it allow you to set priority? Give it permission to use the CPU fully so to speak? Open task manager> Processes> Right click the Movie Maker executable> Set priority> High or Realtime

Assuming that doesn't prevent you from doing whatever else you are doing at the same time ;) Not sure it will help though, worth a try.

I gave up after over four hours, rebooted and tried again. it took "only" 40 minutes this time so problem solved.

It looked as if the Windows Essentials 2012 Movie Maker had some kind of memory leak. It was using over 1GB RAM and two thirds of processing capacity the first run, now considerably less.

New Screen for my Laptop

Today I fixed replacement screen which arrived yesterday from Liberal; Kansas (it took only 9days), this screen is an old model( manufactured in 2009) but a brilliant one, it's a AU Optronics B156XW02 v6, my original was v2 and it looked a bit greyish with blue tint, I could have got cheaper compatible new screen over here but I wanted this particular model :D
If anyone interested to know the difference, I have attached the data sheet for both ( I can not make out anything at all :huh:)
