Christmas is the time for GIVING and not receiving so we donate clothes, food and a few dollars.
We are not wealthy with money growing on the frozen tree's but have enough to share with those that don't have anything.

Just got back from Sam's Club where I picked up stacks of socks, gloves and stocking caps for a women's shelter which warms our hearts for doing something for women who have little or nothing.

Made our grand kids to gather up toys, clothes, shoes, coats that they grew out of and sent them to Loaves and Fishes.
A picture of their faces worth a thousand words.
Everyone have a safe and great week-end as it's dangerous out there in those crazy Malls.

We have sleet on the ground now.. I looked out the kitchen window saw it on the ground, have no idea when it fell..
guess I was on the pc.

Dennis that's how I try to do things as well... I clean my closets, take clean , almost new things to the church closet for those in need.
Our Sunday School class keeps pantry bags filled with whole meals, almost year round for needy people who just show up.

I think this is where those in need should be helped .. not by the government, charity begins with those around us in need.

Sorry to read of your friend, Bill. So young. I know all too well it's toughest around their birthdays and the holidays. Not much anyone can say to relieve the pain of loss. Hang in there.

Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.

There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
About 'Living in the Past'

We used to go to weddings,
Football games and lunches..
Now we go to funeral homes
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,
From parties that were gay.
Now we suffer body aches
And wile the night away.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get sore asses
From riding in the car.

We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little booze.
Now we stay home at night
And watch the evening news.

That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you're too damned old!

I can NEVER have too many sox.. I wear those instead of slippers when I'm home. ( I actually prefer mens sox, they are
fuzzier and larger ) more room for my toes, their tops are longer.

Today is a much needed SOX day.. it's a brisk 18 degrees this morning to get worse all day.. then snow this weekend.
