Today [2]

Going to meet fellow ex-pat Scandinavians here in Leipzig, Germany later today in our annual early Christmas party, celebrated always a day before Advent Sunday which this year is tomorrow, 1st of December. Speaking of many years of experience I know tonight and tomorrow I will be really homesick.

My cousin, also an ex-pat living in Dublin sent me this video. It really suits my mood so I want to share it with you geeks, here on "Today" rather than on Youtube thread.

About the song:
One of the song’s creators, Shane Davis, told the that the song “focuses on the hundreds of thousands of Irish abroad this Christmas who will not be able to make it home for Christmas, a very poignant and current affair”.

The video features clips of emigrants around the world sending messages home to their loved ones and it definitely made us think of friends and family that we will miss this Christmas.

Great video Kari! Christmas is all about being with family for me.

I've been fortunate in my 60 Christmases that I have only been away from home and family on one of them. Christmas 1972 I was in the army and stationed at a missile battery in Korea. Loneliest Christmas I ever spent. It was also the only "white Christmas" I've experienced.

Today I finally visited Eight Forums again after being 'away' for a good month.

The last few months has been very harsh for me. There are some conflicts at the office that provides me with negative energy and my health has been letting me down the last two years. A month ago this resulted in the fact that I couldn't bring it up anymore to visit EF on a regular basis, help people and play the games. I had no more energy left to do anything else then work, eat and sleep.

Today I decided that I shouldn't let the issues stand in the way of me doing what I like. That is working and playing with computers and helping others with their pc questions.

Besides that....after a month looking at the same wallpapers I wanted something new. Since I adore the wallpaperpacks made by hb860 and shared here on EF I simply had to visit again:D.

So...I'm back again here at Eight Forums! And I must say, it's great to be back.

The phone is absolutely wonderful, Rover. Thanks for asking. Another relief with Start Screen/live tiles from the boring desktop/icons of the Androids. It was a little pricey, but a great companion to my 8.1 PC. Made my life easier in that everything syncs. Even my Xbox avatar was there waiting for me. :)

Great to hear you like your new phone, Tony. The sync between the different Windows devices is magnificiant indeed! I have a Windows Phone, Surface Pro and a desktop machine. It's all automatically synced without the need to connect the devices. Microsoft really did a wonderful job there! :thumbsup:

:ditto: The only thing I have about the syncing is that, when photos get put in Skydrive from my phone as of yet I haven't been able to figure out why I can't use them to put on a forum I go to.

When going to my Skydrive I'll pick a photo and tell it to open but it only tells me that's it not a valid file and wont work so at the moment I carryon using my Dropbox.

I've got the Lumia 520 and even though it's the entry level version it's still a brilliant phone with a great camera, even more so since the upgrade.
