A drought here in the U.S. for thw most part this summer. I hate to say it, but we had a lot of rain in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Lots of rain in the UK this summer? Lots of snow last winter if I remember correctly.

They say food prices will rise here do to the drought. Not exactly good when trying to kick start our economy.

True.
Indonesia precisely at equator line and suppose to have tropical climate. Mostly rainy from September to March, and less rainy from March to September. But heck it doesn't work that way anymore for the last decade.
Now, less less rainy. Once rainy season comes, flooding everywhere.

Sheesh Kevin! I do understand the rain is needed for agriculture, BUT the less flooding is also better, and I think hand watering so to say, like back in the old days where workers directed water to the crops would also work. BUT Kevin, you have to remember I am saying this only because I'm assuming the water is available/accessible there. Meaning they have Water Plants/Damns/Reclamation centers to get water to the crops.

Hi Mike.
We do have all means in preserving water. Some did sacrifice their land, even the a whole city to be converted into huge dam in which water comes from several big rivers. But rivers have water mainly from rain forest that preserve water also. The problem here, so many greedy company in collusion with many high rank government "p*gs" have been cutting down trees for their own personal interest (money). So, first problem, less water to preserve. Second, once heavy rainy season say hello, the forest less capable to hold and preserve it, all falling water go directly down the hill bathing thousand acre of living area.

Now some traditional farmer getting smarter, watering the crops using deep well pump. But when it is now numbered to hundreds, even thousands, this over exploitation neglecting the rule of deep well pump use. Then we just expect another disaster is imminent. Sea water as high corrosive matter now starts approaching the underneath city construction.

Just imagine how people destroy their own world.
