I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times on 2 different machines dating back to 4/21 and currently uninstalled on both and the update continues to show up in Updates even after re-checking for updates. The only thing different from the first time is that it is always listed as Optional now. There was a short time when it was listed as Important.

After installing the April patches, KB3022345 came up as Optional in mine. So it's all okay for now. I'm going to ignore that.
Is it the only one causing problems, reported here or is there something else too?

As for recent updates (<30 days ) I think that is the only one that has caused me problems and I usually install them all and that's what got me where I am today.

Thank you, I'm going to do it.

It has caused whole lot of problem for me for this month :(

MS says it actually do not corrupt the system files, but SFC scan detects it incorrectly.

Both my Win 8.1 x64 HP notebooks & Dell venue 8 Win 8.1 x32 tab returned the same error on SFC scan, after installing this update.

Uninstalling it from tab made everything okay.

But I'm not able to uninstall this update on my other HP notebook - an Envy x2 15t (this is not the one in which a Reset Base command was executed).

I'm trying to uninstall by entering Safe Boot.

Hope for the best!

Strange since Microsoft has control of both Updates and SFC. That's what I call "lack of coordination"!

I'm not able to enter safe boot in the Envy x2 15t notebook :(

After making change in Msconfig to restart to safe boot & restarting, I get this message:

"enhanced policy allows only administrators to sign in Safe mode"

IMG_20150522_191306.jpg

There is only okay button to click & I'm not able to click in via touchscreen . detachable keyboard don't work in this screen. It is automatically disabled.

Note:
It has one standard MS & local Admin user accounts and I've set it to always automatically login to MS account

I'm not able to do anything now in this notebook: (

Any one having crazy ideas before attempting a clean install?

This update enables the Diagnostics Tracking Service in Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This tracking service collects data about functional issues in Windows.

This update contains the following two manifests that are occasionally updated by the Diagnostic Tracking Service:
 • telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json
 • utc.app.json
The two files are marked as static files in the update. When an advanced user runs the System File Checker Tool (sfc.exe), the files are unintentionally flagged as corrupted. There is no impact or corruption on a device that is running this update, and this issue will be fixed in a later service update.

I have it installed but I disabled the "service" for now.

I've had similar results.

Recent SFC and DISM errors that could not be resolved on two of my systems.

I suspected Windows updates related to Windows 10, but had no proof till now.

After reading this, I uninstalled and hid KB3022345 on both and, after restarting, the SFC/DISM errors are gone.

Thanks for the pointer this was annoying me to no end.

Maybe I'll stop automatically installing the optional updates - I've always installed everything MS suggested before now.

Very good qn, the answer for which I should've answered in my explanation :
Are you trying to boot into safe mode from a standard user account or your Microsoft account? :

I changed the msconfig to safe boot restart from my standard MS account. and the system is set to always automatically login to this MS account everytime - which didn't pass my mind before making the change & restarting to Safeboot option .

The other account is local Admin account

Both are password protected.

Is the "Other User" click able to change to your Microsoft account?:
Not clickable at all. You can't do anything on this detachable notebook now. touchscreen dont work. detachable keyboard is disabled since restart.

If not try going to Troubleshoot > Advanced Startup >Advance Options > command prompt then then type net user administrator /active:yes then go to Startup Settings and choose Safe Mode or any other option. :
The troubleshoot screen was not accessible anyway. I hard shutdown system 3-5times. Then again powered on , automatically went to recovery console, did a System Refresh & now everything is back to square one.

Thank you very much Cliff :)

Aha, so can we say that sfc /scannow is giving a false positive corruption?
