Sorry tenners.

Hello to everyone.

It's been almost a year since posting here.
Best Luck and happy times to all of the Windows 10 users.

Recently been reviewing operating systems for DISCONNECTED use.
I do not use the internet at home.

Posted on a chromebook using free wifi while sitting at a mall.

From my perspective, - the reason for this post,
I have installed and used ...
- Mint -
Vista Ultimate,
Windows 7 Pro,
Windows 8.0 - 8.1 - 8.1.1
(bought) Windows 10240
Windows 10 insider preview build after build after build after build.
Server 2012 - Server 2016
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB
Windows Anniversary releases
Windows Evaluations ...

If Microsoft takes a glance at this post,
I wish to thank Microsoft for BUILD 9200 (nt 6.2)

Thanks to Eight Forums and the Administrators for excellent service.

The winner is, for what I do,
is Server 2012 - build 9200

Build 9200 - the same build as Windows 8.0
Having no connection to the internet,
NEVER connecting, in any way, - online - from home using build 9200,
the OS works perfectly out of the box -
does not need updates - does not need defender for disconnected home use ONLY.

In a tribute to Windows 8.0 (build 9200) - the original start screen works beautifully IMHO.
The OS rocks.

Thanks to the programmers and code writers @ Microsoft.

If you were to use the Internet on this box, you can still update the OS until October 2023, so you're basically as secure as a Windows 7 or 8.1 user (but without all telemetry updates).
However you can manually use these updates with Windows 8 as well. Windows 8 works very well.

Windows 8.0 worked extremely well on my old eMachines computer. However, the ride got bumpy when I upgraded it to 8.1.

I took 8.0 off of the machine when it went out of support.

The only other decent OS which works even close to that well on my old computer is Elementary OS (Linux).
