Taskbar won't hide

My task bar is set to hide, but won't. I think I've figured out what causes it, but not how to fix. It's been going on for some time and usually rebooting gave a temporary solution. I could never figure out what caused it ; it would just all of a sudden not hide. Well I just did a scan using my HP OfficeJet Pro 6810 and now the task bar is stuck open again.
I haven't tried yet, but it could also happen using the HP 6810 to print as well. So I guess HP is taking control of the task bar.

Do they show an icon in the system tray? Can the option be set to not show a tray icon? I am thinking maybe it disables AutoHide because it wants you to see the tray icon. Just guessing.

Thanks for the reply. I should have marked it solved, but I just accidentally found the problem. i was running an uninstall program (Geek) and noticed that there were two Adobe Flash installs. I uninstalled the oldest and it's been fine since. So it wasn't HP.

Well it's back to locking the taskbar in open position. Actually it's been doing it for a while. I thought I had it licked by uninstalling one of Adobe Flash. I just can't seem to determine when it happens; there doesn't appear to be any relevance to opening anything in particular. It's locked open now and I didn't have a browser opened when it did. If I reboot it's OK for a while; could be five minutes or five hours, but always more than once a day.
