Synaptics Touchpad Settings

Hello,

I just got an Acer Windows 8 PC, and none of the touchpad gestures seem to be working. I have tried using several recommended third-party tools and all of them said that I didn't have the correct drivers, even after I installed all of them.

I have gone to mouse --> Synaptics --> Settings, and the only options there are to enable/disable the buttons.

Is there any way to enable multi-touch?

Thanks,
Sora

Did you go to the Acer site and download the latest drivers for the touchpad? I have an Acer that came with Windows 7, upgraded it to 8 and downloaded the touchpad drivers from the Acer site. I now have the touchpad gestures. And it really really makes a huge difference!

Hi, you may have Elantech or Athros pointing device in your PC, go to Device Manager and find out the version of your driver, let us know.

I updated the drivers with installers from Acer's site (which required uninstalling of the "newer" drivers from synaptic's site), and nothing has changed.

Hello Sora,

You might see if using the 16.2.21 version of these drivers from Synaptics at the link below may work better for you.

Here's what my settings look like for this.
