Switch to Firefox or stick with Chrome?

So I've heard these two are the best browsers around, although I've seen firefox and its good it takes up more RAM than Chrome by about 30MB, should I switch or stay?

It is a matter of personal choice. The right choice for me might be totally wrong for you. Which one is better depends on how you define "better" and that is highly subjective.
Memory usage of a browser is highly variable and depends on many factors. Depending on the circumstances either Chrome or Firefox could use more memory.

I use Firefox for the familiarity & the mods. While I've heard consistently Chrome is faster, I'm stubborn & stick to what I know
In reality they pretty well trade blows between updates

The (somewhat) recent UI update making all the Firefox navigation buttons bigger really irked me.
But some fine gentlemen made a mod to revert that. So things are good =)

Here is my thought as a Firefox contributor,

Firefox Or Any other firefox builds my mozilla for,

1. Good selection of millions of addons
2. Sync Syncs EVERYTHING that you have done on firefox.

4. Stylish add-on to style websites can also style mozilla!
5. Search bar moved from address bar
6. Totally Customizable in every way
7. Don't like something on a page? Inspect it and set it to hidden so it doesn't appear

Cons

1. Not as fast as chrome, but still more customizable.
2. Can get slow if you mess with About:config
3. Chrome style UI as of April 2014 (use classic theme restorer)
4. No voice search

1. Simple UI
2. Less RAM use
3. Doesn't need to be restarted when you install add-ons
4. Chrome://flags is dangerous. Don't go there unless you know what you're doing.
5. Faster than Firefox
6. Voice search

Cons
1. Can leak RAM
2. Can become slow after awhile
3. Stole Firefox's "Australis" theme before they released it.
4. Firefox has wayyyyy more addons

I was just going to ask same question. It's not the matter just with browsers, it's about windows and programs. One thing is important to understand, RAM is there to be used, not just to plug holes in MB. Let's take browsers for instance, every page you open has it's own size over there on the server, to see it on your computer, it has to be downloaded, it has to be on the computer you are viewing it on, the only question is will it sit in RAM or would have to be written to temporary file on the disk, guess which way it's faster to retrieve ? So, unless browser loads only part of the page, same page opened on any browser will be same size and use same amount of RAM + whatever is written to temp file on the disk.
I would rather have as much of a program, data or internet page as possible in RAM than to wait for same stuff to come up from disk or internet, it's much faster that way. Only problem could be certain "memory leak" ie. program may not release memory not used any more, it still sits in it's allocated, protected space and OS or programs can not access it and therefore is useless to that and other programs. This is largely the matter of application that allocated that space and very rarely OS can do anything about it.
