the issue is, i bought it online, and the seller had the laptop imported from thailand. the laptop itself, and its other parts, including battery, are not available here(i have also tried to search for issues with this model in the internet, and from what i found, there were a very few people who have this model).

i don't know anyone who uses this model. by the way can you help me on how to get an alternate back up(without battery)?

and, i tried to use my desktop ups as an alternate back up for the battery.
i tried plugging in the laptop's ac adapter to the ups(desktop), and then plugged in the ups to the wall.
when the ups(desktop) was running on DC, the laptop didn't turn on.
but it turned on when the ups(desktop) ran on AC.

With ups, you mean PSU (Power Supply Unit)?

I see, you can't use it for your laptop.
The voltages are different and may cause damage to your laptop.

I meant i wanted to plug in to the ups via laptop's ac adapter.
--
by the way, new problem.. battery not detected.
when i plugged in the ac, and switched it on, there was the battery charging symbol in my laptop's led(red color), but then it started blinking for 2-3 seconds and finally its telling me that "no battery is detected".

Please make sure the wires are properly connected.
tried plugging in the wires loosely, very tightly, and every possible way i can. but its not detecting.

the "battery is charging"(orange) led blinks when you connect it with the ac adapter. and then it blinks for 2-3 seconds.
after that it shows "battery is fully charged"(green) color within the next 2 seconds, then the indicator stops blinking(doesn't show any color).
so it all happens only for the first 5 seconds when you plug it in with the AC power.

unfortunately, my laptop takes longer to turn on(else i could check the "battery indicator" status near the tray icon to see the status). so when it turns on, the battery LED already shows "no color", and the bar near the tray icon shows "battery not detected".
and this is the only wire that connects the battery to the laptop(motherboard).

so it detects battery, but only for the first few seconds...

---
by the way can you tell if directly plugging in the laptop to the AC(with or without a dead battery) can harm a laptop?
(and please let me know if i can try anything else)

It definitely does, the PSU converts the power to the right voltages for your laptop.
My PSU has AC 100-240V and DC 19.5V, the AC is way too much for the laptop.

Btw, did you also make sure, when connecting the battery back to the laptop, that the connections of both the wires and the laptop are clean of any dust?
