Solved Streaming music to receiver thru bluetooth

I've searched here and Google but haven't found the answer. I bought a bluetooth audio receiver to stream music to my stereo receiver and speakers. The device connected to the computer (Windows 8.1) perfectly. Appears as connected to the computer. But music played on the PC doesn't get to the stereo speakers. I can connect the device to my android phone and play music through the stereo speakers perfectly.

In Windows Volume Control, the BT device appears and is selected. When I try to play music through my receiver, I can hear music coming from my PC speakers (barely) but nothing through the stereo. What am I missing?

How are you connecting the device to the PC? Via the headphone jack? GREEN speaker jack on the rear? Since it works with a phone I assume its being connected via an analog audio jack?

Hmmm, according to the way I read the instructions, I plug in power to an outlet and the device to RCA jacks in the back of the receiver. Connect to the PC via BT. Again, the goal is to stream music from PC>receiver>passive speakers. Phone is connected to the device thru BT and streams music perfectly.
BTW, I THINK I know the device requires A2DP. I'm told my PC supports A2DP . . .
Device Manager>Bluetooth>Generic BT Radio> Manufacturer CSR
Device Manager>Network>BT Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) #2.
According to Lenovo's nearly nonexistent support, that's a A2DP-capable card.

Do you have any other BT device that you can test with the PC? A BT headset?

I've never used BT with my Laptop so I'm no sure how it works, other than you have to "pair" the devices.

Although this Is concerning audio, a different forum section dealing more with communications probably is more appropriate.

Yeah, my wife's iPhone can connect and a dual headset can connect.
I don't see a forum containing "communication."

FWIW, I stumbled on the following . . .
Control Panel>Devices & Printers, right-click on BT receiver. I get a list of 6 devices; 4 Digital Display Audio (all unplugged), Realtek speakers (Default Device), and BT receiver (Disconnected). I've tried selecting "Connected" - nothing happens. Have I learned anything of value?

Yes, that info is also available on the Sound/Playback Panel.

Next step, look at the Device Manager and see if the BT device is detected and what the status or error code is.

Works fine now. Had 4 BT devices paired to the PC. Removed all 4. Paired the BT receiver and it worked. Paired the other 3 devices and the BT receiver still works. Don't know why. Don't care why. Thanks for the patience.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind if someone else has a BT problem.
