After some problems with Windows Update in Windows 8 and not being able to reset Windows- I stumbled upon a way to update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Thinking this was the solution, I did my best to create a backup in Windows recovery, which got cancelled after 97% but still created some kind of backup on my external. Just to be sure, I copied the whole C:\ to the external as well as drivers back up from a third party and a recovery image.
And then I updated.
Oh, my computer is a Sony Vaio Pro 13 SVP1321M2E.
Not reading the instructions clearly, I forgot about the whole Vaio Care Update procedure you're suppose to go through before updating to Windows 8.1. So now- it's not working.
The computer itself is running, I'd like to say smoothly, except from the noisy fan.
Vaio Care however- is not and now I don't know how to get the whole VAIO package back. I've been through every forum here and on Windows. Taking a lot of instructions and following advice on how to re-install Windows. I've downloaded and installed every update on SONY's website- twice!
How do I get my VAIO care Update back and running? I can't even do a refresh, apparently I'm missing some files....
I don't know what's wrong and I don't know how to fix it. I just want my computer reliable and running smoothly. Please help.
