Report: Verizon will have a new Nokia Windows Phone 8 device later this year | wpcentral | Windows Phone News, Forums, and Reviews

The main thorn in the crotch of Windows Phone has been the lack of Verizon's support. There's only one phone, the HTC Trophy, on Verizon. They've criticized the platform for not having LTE support, but apparently they're in the Windows Phone boat now. I'm pretty excited that Nokia's going to be part of Verizon because that means I can talk to my brother and see if I can add a line on his account and pay WAY less than my individual att account. :dinesh:

Apple on the Nokia Lumia in court
This one was a good read. It's about the Jeckle and Hyde situation of apple and Samsung's trial. In closing argument, apple's lawyer whipped out a Nokia Lumia phone and declared, "Not every smartphone has to look like an iphone."

YES!

I just talked to a few people at work the other day about getting new phones. They were all dead set on the new iPhone 5 coming out. They complained a bit about Droids and how they don't feel they will be happy with them. I honestly tried to talk to them about the Windows phone and I don't kid at all...but they laughed and said they were more inclined to get a blackberry because at least some people still use Blackberry.

Seriously, this hill that Windows phone has to climb is like a mountain climb on a BMX bike.

I don't know how they plan on tackilng that perception problem.

Maybe they are hoping the win8 tablets will do ok and it will somehow rub off.

It's a bit vague.

I have high hopes for Windows Phone 8. Verizon was never on board with it and they want a third option, and a higher end third option. The more, the merrier with them. Plus, with their clout and coverage and marketing ability, things have a great chance at turning around.
