Skype not working on my laptop

So for christmas I got a Toshiba laptop with windows 8. I tired downloading Skype so many times I give up. Whenever I tired downloading skype it would say 'error 0x80070002'
I tired fixing this but i can't and I don't want to mess up anything since I'm really good with computers nor are their anyone in my house that knows computer. Help please?
