Help for ageing laptop dinasour please! My old laptop is 8 year old Toshiba works ok apart from the "you have been signed in with temporary profile thing." I have nothing stored on it and would like to pass it on to elderly neighbour to go on to Zoom and browse internet. It will load Zoom but of course this vanishes when I sign out. Also the e mail address is now out of date. I am getting bogged down with the many how to fix it things. It would suit me to restore it to factory settings and start afresh but I am a bit concerned of messing it up completely. this also looks a bit complicated and I do not have the back up cd mentioned. Any easy to understand instructions would be much appreciated

Hello John, and welcome to Eight Forums. :-)

Since you are passing on the computer to your neighbor, you could also reset Windows 8 to start fresh on it. This way you can set up Windows 8 with an account for your neighbor without you account being on the computer anymore.

The tutorial below can help show you step by step on how to reset Windows 8 if needed.
