How to Add "Shut Down" Computer to Desktop Context Menu in Windows 8 and 8.1

This will show you how to add or remove Shut Down Computer to the context menu of the desktop, inside folders, and inside drives for all users in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.
You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do this tutorial.

The action that this Shut down option performs will depend on if you have the fast startup setting turned on or off.
EXAMPLE: Shut Down Computer in Desktop Context Menu
Here's How:
1. Do step 2 or 3 below for what you would like to do.
2. To Add "Shut Down" to the Desktop Context Menu
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.
Add_Shut_Down_to_Desktop_Context_Menu.reg
3. To Remove "Shut Down" from the Desktop Context Menu
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.
Remove_Shut_Down_from_Desktop_Context_Menu.reg
4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.
5. Double click/tap on the .reg file to merge it.
6. If prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
7. When done, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
8. Right click on your desktop to see the change.
NOTE: You can press the :winkey: + D key to go to the desktop.
